Maciej graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 2010. He continued his education at the doctorate level at the Division of Animal Pathophysiology in the same institution under the supervision of Professor Anna Winnicka. His doctoral thesis aimed to evaluate the influence of mycophenolic acid (an active metabolite of an immunosuppressive drug – mycophenolate mofetil) on selected parameters of the canine immune system. As a PhD student he combined his academic commitments with working part-time as a veterinary surgeon at a veterinary clinic in Warsaw. From January 2014 Maciej pursued his postgraduate education as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Clinical Pathology at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge.
