After graduating from the University of Milan, Valentina worked for a year in a small animal practice in the Cotswolds and then for five years for a charitable small animal hospital (PDSA) in Wales where she had the role of Deputy Senior Veterinary Surgeon and Staff Communication and Consultation Representative. In May 2012 Valentinamoved to Cambridge Vet School to undertake a one-year rotating Internship, following which she stayed on as a Junior Staff Surgeon (orthopaedics). In 2011 she obtained the General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and she is currently working towards the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. In June 2014 Valentina was appointed as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Small Animal Surgery.
Clinical and research interests
Valentina is interested in all aspects of small animal surgery and is currently working on two research projects: a study on the evaluation of bone mineral density of the canine tibia and the biomechanical testing of a novel construct for extra-capsular repair following cranial cruciate ligament rupture in dogs.
